MILL STREET
Knocking on doors, and phantom footsteps are said to be heard here.
BEDFORD HOSPITAL
The ghostly figure of a young girl has been seen here, as well as numerous reports from other places in the hospital of phantom sounds and hauntings.

UNION STREET
The site of Bedfords Gallows were situated here, and the ghostly apparition of Highwayman ‘Black Tom’ who was hanged there, has been seen walking down the street with an unnamed accomplice.

Another sighting of 'Black Tom' - this time he appears black faced with head jarred as though indicating hanging.

BEDFORD SCHOOL
The ghost of former headmaster, Samuel Whitbread is said to wander the the corridors of the school at night. He has also reportedly spoken to witnesses, then suddenly dissapeared.

This place reportedly has several ghosts, including those of two men and a stable boy from different eras.

CINEWORLD CINEMA
These particular hauntings seem to centre around screen 4, and the nearby toilets.A hooded monk has been seen by several witnesses, in the foyer, and in a toilet mirror!
Visitors and staff to the cinema have also reported the sounds of scratching and chains, feelings of being touched, temperature fluctuations, and items being thrown. the old Newham Priory once stood on the same spot, and a young man hung himself in the location of what is now screen 4 - this may explain why so many supernatural occurences centre themselves around this area.
CHICKSANDS
RAF BASE
A ghostly nun is said to walk here on the 17th of each month, looking for her love. The officers mess at RAF Chicksands, is, in part the old Priory, and this may explain the numerous,varied reports of hauntings here.
CLOPHILL
DEADMANS HILL
The ruins of St.Marys church stand here, and the area is believed to have been used for the purpose of Black Magic in the 1960s/70s. The area came under much publicity at this time, and press reports were made. The area has been described as having the feeling of ‘Pure evil’. Apparitions have been photographed in the ruins, and nearby a ghostly horse and cart has been seen.

FIVE KNOLLS
An ancient burial site is located here, and ancient skeletons have been unearthed. Also believed to be the burial place for those executed on the local gallows.

PRIORY CHURCH
Believed to be the burial place of Bedfordshire Witch ‘Sally’. She was buried here to prevent the release of her soul.

On a footpath near hear, leading to Houghton Regis the ghost of a Saxon chieftan, in full armour has been seen, stalking the narrow lane.Has not been seen recently after a saxon grave was unearthed in the 1950s.

A monk has been seen standing outside this church in the dead of night. Those who have seen it say that when they move closer he disappears into thin air..
FLITWICK
FLITWICK MANOR HOTEL
The ghost of a little old lady in Victorian dress has been seen here several times by staff and guests. The smell of ‘rose perfume’ has also been encountered. A ghostly monk has also been seen in the hotel.

MAG LANE
On damp, misty nights the ghost of ‘headless mag’ the witch is supposed to appear. This particular apparition has been seen quite a few times over the years.

The apparition of a tall man has been seen numerous times here.

DRURY LANE
A small barefoot girls was seen here by a couple walking home. She ran past them, and when they followed her she had disappeared.

ST.MICHAEL & ST.ANGELS
The stone effigies of the HUETTS are reputed to be haunted by the couple themselves – showing their dismay at the removal of their statues. A ghostly apparition has also been seen in the church.

AMPTHILL GREAT PARK
A knight in full regalia, riding a white horse has reputedly been seen here.
SEWELL-CUTTING NATURE RESERVE
Now a nature reserve, it stands on what was the Dunstable to Leighton Railway line. Someone taking photos there was alarmed to see in one of his pictures the ghostly image of a railway carriage with a ladys face at the window! – no explanation could be found as to how this happened…

THE DELL
The strange apparition of a ‘little blue man with a tall hat and a beard’ has been seen here by a group of schoolboys in the 1960s.
TODDINGTON
TURN OFF M1
Junction 12 seems to have an apparition of a man in dark clothes who wanders into the road. He has been reported on several occasions for almost causing accidents in the vicinity.
WILDEN to RAVENSDEN ROAD
This stretch of road is reputedly haunted by the ghost of an ‘evil looking witch’ – supposedly ‘mother sutton’ a Bedfordshire witch, who was hung, along with her daughter in 1612.
WOBURN
WOBURN ABBEY
There is supposedly nine ghosts haunting the Abbey. Most of them seem to make their presence known without being ‘seen’. Those who have been witnessed, include a ghostly monk, and a gentleman in a top hat.
