HEMEL GHOST WALK
2010

It was a FREEEEEZZZZZING October evening when we did a Ghost Walk of Hemel Hempsteads Historic 'Old Town' area with members of the local Dacorum Mencap Society.

This was the first 'Ghost Walk' we had done, and we were warned in advance that the group didn't want to hear stories of lost love and romance, but of Blood and Gore!

Luckily enough, we had a few gory tales up our sleeves, and hopefully this was enough for the more bloodthirsty amongst the group!

Included in the walk was the amarous King Henry VIII, A Suicidal Council Worker, Tales from the workhouse, some very public whippings, poltergeists, drunken sailors, and ghosts that remain today!

Unfortunately it was too cold to hang around outside for long, and so our tour was a brief one, we also didn't encounter any of the ghosts personally along the way!

However, we did visit one place in particular that had most of the group feeling very 'strange' and a few people mentioned that they didn't feel particularly good there, it was the only place along the way that when photographs were taken strange 'mists and lights' were seen.... (and no it wasn't the pub after one too many!!)  but was it ghosts? - I'm afraid we don't know, and we won't give any more away in case you want to join us for a 'Ghost Walk' of your own one day!

We will be holding 'Ghost Walks' in aid of Dacorum Mencap from Autumn 2011
and throughout 2012
