HAPPY NEW YEAR!
After an extended Christmas Break we are now back and looking forward to another year of Investigations. If you have contacted us over December we're in the process of replying to you, we haven't forgotten you! We hope you all had a very peaceful and happy Christmas and we wish you a very Happy New Year!
GHOST STORIES - FRIDAY 13th JANUARY 2012

NOVEMBER 2011
October was an extremely busy month!!
We have only just got back online after a hectic October!! - Apologies for not updating the site before, but it was extremely busy here as we planned and produced our First Halloween Fundraiser - for four dayswe turned a house and garden into a 'Haunted' House, complete with a Synthesised Light and Music Display. It was hard work but worth it! We raised just over £400 for Watling View SLD School, St.Albans andYoung Carers in Hertfordshire. We were overwhelmed by peoples response to it, and the donations we recieved! For more pics and 'Thanks' to those involved please click here
Our October Overnight Investigation was at the Ancient Ram, Wooton Under Edge, Gloucester.
This venue is often called one of the most haunted places in England, and was one place most members had wanted to investigate given it' s history! How did we get on, and did The Ram live up to it's reputation? Click here for the report.

HALLOWEEN 2011
Now Autumn is here thoughts turn to Halloween, and organising an Annual Event.
This years theme is 'Haunted House' and from the 28th - 31st Inclusive we will decorate a house to look like a Spooky Haunted House with plenty to see and do for those who dare to come along and take a look!!. Further details on this are available on the FUNDRAISING page, and will be updated with full details from 1st October 2011.
We will also be adding details of Public Halloween Events being held throughout Beds, Bucks and Herts as we know them. If you are a local venue or organisation holding a Halloween event we will add a FREE listing to this page, details of which can be found here.
JULY 2011
AUGUST HOLIDAYS
We will be closed for August due to holidays,etc. If you contact us during this time there may be a delay in replying. There is no Group Meeting during August - meetings will start again in September 2011.

We are currently working on our events callendar starting from September 2011. If you are interested in attending public events, please contact us on mail@supernaturalshires.co.uk we will then add your details to our mailing list and let you know what's happening!

MEMBERSHIP & EVENTS
We have added a new 'EVENTS' page with details of any events that are open to the Public. We have had a lot of enquiries for group membership from people who just want to go on events, not actually participate in Group activities. Occassionally we may have limited places available on our larger venue Investigations and these places may be offered to the General Public. We have a mailing list for people who are ONLY interested in events which can be found here.
MEMBERSHIP - Please only use the MEMBERSHIP form ONLY if you are SERIOUSLY INTERESTED in joining the group. Being a member entails more than just going on events and ALL MEMBERS are expected to help make the group work -
IF YOU ONLY WANT TO GO ON EVENTS - join our events mailing list and we will update you on future public participation events.

SITE MAINTENANCE
We've updated the site with a 'new look'. We are in the process of 'tweaking' a few things but it should be finished soon!
APOLOGIES
We've been asked when the report from 'THE SWAN' Investigations will be available on-line. We are in the process of finishing the report and will add it to the Website as soon as we have done so, we will also add any other reports we have at the same time.
CHANGE OF PLANNED INVESTIGATIONS - 2011
We had planned a Full calender of Investigations for 2011, but since we had done so the economy has got worse for the public and group members alike. For that reason we will not book ANY Investigations before we know that we have enough members going to make it economically viable. This may mean fewer 'large' venue investigations, and more smaller-scale investigations. Becuase of these changes, some of the advertised events are liable to change at short notice.

PUBLIC EVENTS
We do not hold public events ourselves, but occasionally we may work with a venue that is holding their own 'Paranormal' event or Fundraiser. These events may be advertised on our Website, with the full venue and event details as we are given them by the venue management .
WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BOOKINGS/PAYMENTS, ETC... YOU WILL NEED TO CONTACT THE VENUE DIRECTLY WITH REGARDS TO THE EVENT ITSELF.

We welcome applications for Membership to our group. You can either contact us directly on the following email address: gatewayparanormal@ntlworld.com or via the form on our MEMBERSHIP PAGE. If you do email us we will contact you as soon as we can.

When applying for membership we will initialy contact you by EMAIL so please make sure you give us a VALID EMAIL ADDRESS. We will send you a MAXIMUM of 2 emails about membership. If you do not reply to either email we will assume you are no longer interested in joining and your contact details will be removed. Further details can be found on our MEMBERSHIP page.
EVENTS
Events listed for 2011 are for MEMBERS ONLY. We may occassionally hold Public Participation Events. If you would be interested in attending a Public Event, full details will be given on the relevant page you can contact us on: events@supernaturalshires.co.uk ALL of our Publice Events are held as Fundraisers to benefit local good causes.
FUNDRAISING
We have decided that any Fundraising events we hold will benefit various local good causes and charities, as all members would like to raise funds for causes which are quite often personal to them. - Details of the Fundraising events and good causes can be found on the FUNDRAISING page.

THE SWAN - 23rd OCTOBER 2010
We Investigated The Swan in Berkhamsted, and for the first time allowed the local press to come along for the Halloween Edition of the local papers.
Thank you for all those who helped on the night, it's just a shame that not everyone was shown!! - (though I'm sure they are all secretly relieved!!) - It did all look a bit 'Blair Witch with the 'arty filming' and we were a bit dissapointed that despite talking for hours, only a fraction was used...
After nearly 5 hours of almost constantly being filmed and photographed, somehow 5 minutes were found that was suitable for Public viewing where we didn't look scarier than the subject matter we were investigating.. no mean feat really given that I don't think any of us wanted to be filmed at such close range after 4 hours in a cold environment when you were expecting a couple of pictures and a little bit of talking.... and most of the unused film is probably of us all gurning and going 'I hate being filmed, I look awful on camera, don't use me...etc.....'
Still, its an experience...not one of our best ones maybe, but an experience none the less!
As for which was scarier, the Investigation, or being filmed..... the latter....definatley..... don't have nightmares now.... :-o
The report will be added to the Website as soon as we've found some pictures of us looking half decent..... ;-)
FACEBOOK
We have had to stop members postings on the main Facebook Page, as it was getting too full of Spam, and despite our best efforts to control this, with over 2,000 members it was becoming impossible to monitor everything that was being posted. We will now only use it to post our own things or links to other relevant websites/groups, etc..

LASTLY......
We now have a FACEBOOK group, the link is on the homepage. We will be adding some of the content from the Website to the Facebook page, but it will be edited - to read everything you will still need to visit the Website.
OUR FACEBOOK GROUP IS NOT RUN BY THE SAME PEOPLE WHO RUN THE WEBSITE - IT IS RUN BY OTHER MEMBERS OF G.P.S. - The views reflected on Facebook Forums are not neccessarily the views expressed by Gateway Paranormal Society! Please remember Facebook is an open Forum!
