THE NICKEY LINE

This was another location we had previously visited, but was well deserving of a second Investigation. Previously we had investigated at short notice, armed with nothing but a camera and our intuition! This time we went fully equipped (including a table and chairs - best buy so far!!)
We began the evening at dusk, and walked along the Line from the Midland Public House, over the bridge which spans Queensway and about 100 foot further on. We took many photos to begin with, which showed nothing, but as darkness fell the atmosphere changed from a balmy Spring evening into a cool eerie night.
As soon as it got dark enough a couple of the group decided to walk further along the line, and see what they could 'sense' in the darkness. Apart from the faint glow of street and houselights the Nickey Line is virtually pitch black - and in some places it is completely dark - it certainly isn't the type of place many people would walk along alone!
The evening was fairly quiet to begin with - as before, we hadn't said anything to those going about the places we had 'picked up' things before - we wanted to leave it those who hadn't been there before to decide on what they felt might be of Paranormal Intrest.
There was one tree in particular that some people felt was 'strange' - when they stood by it they felt uneasy, and one person complained of feeling 'dizzy and sick' when they stood by it. - They also said they could 'feel' a presence there, and that it was of a child. This was felt in our previous visit, by two people at the time who both 'felt' there was a little girl haunting the Line.

The Nickey Line is a very dusty place, so we were expecting to take quite a few photos with 'orbs' in that we could attribute to dust or even to small insects, however only a handful of pictures showed orbs that were quite clearly 'dust' and when we had our torches on there were very few insects around to interfere with our photographs. But some pictures taken showed red and green balls of light, and as in the pictures above taken immediately after each other some of these 'anomalies' were clearly moving....
STRANGE CREATURE ON THE LINE??
One of the more bizarre occurences during our time on the Nickey Line was the appearance of a large creature.... I kid you not.... While we were setting up the Ouija Board, 2 members of the group clearly saw a large creature run the width of the line about 50 foot from where they were standing, appearing from one group of bushes and dissapearing silently into the bushes on the other side....
Both members at exactly the same time said 'did you see that??' to each other.... the creature was larger than a fox, but had the same long tail and small, elongated face shape, but was more the size of a large dog, however it's legs were shorter than a dogs - looking too small for the length of the creature. One member claims what they saw was grey, with the other saying their vision had been of a black creature.... both swear they saw it, and knowing them, we have no reason to believe they made it up!
SEANCE
It was getting late so we decided to make the Ouija Session our last item before leaving. We had most members participating and also voice recorded the session for later evaluation.
We were surprised at how quickly the planchette moved - usually it can take a few minutes before it starts, but this happened quite quickly. It was a cold evening, so any feelings we had of temperature fluctuations, draughts or 'cold spots' around us would be attributable to the climate rather than anything Paranormal.
The 'spirit' we made contact with gave his name as 'John' and his age as 17. Our immediate thought was that this was the same 'John' we had made contact with at The Swan (see the Swan report for further details) so we asked if we had contacted him before, his reply being 'Yes'. We aked if he was with us during the entire evening - again the reply was 'Yes'
At this time one member of the group took a photograph of the session - we didn't notice until some time after, when we looked at the picture closely that there was a mist behind one of the members to the left hand side of the picture (to the left of the person holding the video camera)( It may not be noticeable on all monitors, so you may have to look closely.)
GHOSTS ALL AROUND......
Given how dark and isolated parts the Nickey Line are, we were surprised when appearing from nowhere a young lady walked past us asking "Are you looking for something?? as we were in the middle of our Ouija Session. Needless to say we were a bit surprised, and for a brief second we may have thought we'd seen a ghost 'in the flesh' so to speak, especially when continuing with the Ouija session after we asked if a ghost had passed us, and the reply was 'yes'. Of course, evaluating the findings after it would seem that this apparition was indeed flesh and blood, and asking if there were other ghosts that had passed us, well - there may well have been - we maybe should have been more specific with our question...
After this happened a strange atmosphere descended over the group, with a few members no longer feeling safe on the line and wanting to leave the area quickly. I must admit that there had been a strange atmosphere towards the end of the night, especially when we started the Ouija session, but even now I can't explain how, or why these feelings came about, only that they were shared amongst a few of the group who all felt much better when they had left the area.
Despite another varied night on The Nickey Line, the evening had ended abruptly, and we didn't have a long enough Ouija Session to find out much information. We will be visiting there again, and some members have said about doing a longer vigil there in the early hours of the morning, when it should be at it's quietest.
However, the board did spell out the name of one of the 'ghosts' that may have been there, or indeed the lady that passed us - Yvonne aged 32..... so if you know of a Yvonne , aged 32 who bumped into a group of people on The Nickey Line this year who seemed a bit shocked to see her there - tell her it was us!!
